The Scoreboard programs are all installed the same way- with a "self-extracting" setup program that you run directly from the program links on the Download page. Although you don't really need to understand the actual process, here's how the installation works:
We make our products available through an approach known as "trialware". To avoid the expense of packaging, marketing, and distributing software through traditional retail outlets, and your risk of buying something you may not really need, you can try out the software on a 15-day trial basis. After that you are prompted to send us a registration payment (check or credit card), and we will return a special "Software Code" to you which will permanently unlock the software for use on that PC. The important thing about this is that a Software Code will only work on one machine (!) - you won't be able to "share" this code with other PCs or with your friends...
In other words, this approach is mutually beneficial; we can keep costs down dramatically, and you get a chance for an extended test drive before you buy.
Back to TopWhen you receive your Registration Key, enter it into the Step 3 field of the Registration window that displays automatically when you start the program. You will only have to do this once; if you un-install the program or upgrade to a newer version, the registration information will be preserved.
Note: the Registration Key is tied to one, and only one, computer. If you need a new Registration Key (e.g., if you replace the original computer), registered users can request a new Key at no additional cost.
Back to TopNo - the software is already fully functional; the only difference is that the Registration Key "unlocks" the system to allow it to run indefinitely.
Back to TopNo. Registered users are automatically entitled to free upgrades. To upgrade from one version to the next, just un-install and re-install with the new version- if you have already registered, this information will be preserved.
Back to TopThe Scoreboard is designed exclusively for 1024 x 768 display resolution, and will not display properly with other resolution settings. If the display does not appear to be centered properly:
If after doing this your display still isn't centered, this is probably due to your use of "large" fonts for your Windows environment. To correct this:
Yes, registered customers are entitled to free upgrades. If you are downloading an upgrade from the website or from a CD, you could either un-install the version you have and re-install, or you select the "Repair" option from the dialog box that appears from the installation.
Note:If you upgrade your software, your registration information is preserved - you will not need to request a new Registration Key.
Back to TopIf your system consists of dual monitors and the video projection is run through the 2nd monitor, you will need to reassign the "primary monitor" used by the system prior to running the program. From the Control Panel, click Display, then the Settings tab. Next, click on Monitor #2, then click the "Use this device as the primary monitor" checkbox, click Apply. Now when you launch the program it will appear on the other monitor. Remember that you will have to return this setting to its original state afterwards.
Back to TopIf you would like to display a different logo, just click the Logo button on the Scoreboard Preferences window that comes up each time you start the program. Then, click the Select button and navigate to the logo image in your file system. Highlight the file, click "Open", then click OK on the Setup form.
Notes
No. Any customizations you make to the appearance or behaviors of the program are "remembered" until you modify them again. Refer to the Help file included with the software for information on how to modify specific settings.
Back to TopIf necessary, the program can be un-installed from the Windows Control Panel:
